Boston Metal: Scaling the Future of Critical Metals
Over the past several years, we have been working toward a clear goal at Boston Metal. We set out to take a breakthrough technology and move it into the real world at a meaningful scale.
Recently, we announced the next chapter for the business with $75 million in funding to accelerate the deployment of our Molten Oxide Electrolysis (MOE) platform technology and scale production of critical metals in the U.S. and globally.
That kind of progress does not happen all at once. It requires focus, discipline, and a willingness to make deliberate choices about where to invest time and resources. As we move forward, it is important for us to be transparent about how we are thinking about the next phase of our journey.

Demonstrated by this news, we are focusing our efforts on deploying our MOE Critical Metals business. This decision is a natural evolution that started with our Series A in 2018 and reflects both where we see the greatest opportunity and where our technology can scale most quickly.
Critical metals are the new strategic commodities of the modern economy. They are essential to advanced technologies, manufacturing systems, and the infrastructure that supports AI and digital growth. Demand is increasing at a pace that existing supply chains are not prepared to meet.
At the same time, there is a significant, often-overlooked opportunity. Around the world, there are large volumes of low-grade resources and underutilized waste streams. In many cases, these materials are treated as liabilities because they are not economical to process using conventional methods.
We believe that needs to change.
Our MOE platform technology was designed with flexibility in mind. It can operate across a wide range of metal oxides and feedstocks. That capability allows us to produce metals from materials that were previously considered too complex or too costly to process.
This creates a different path forward. MOE gives us a scalable way to unlock new sources of critical metals. It enables a more cost-effective production model. It also supports the broader goal of strengthening domestic supply chains and advancing industrial onshoring.
Taken together, these advantages position our MOE Critical Metals business as the area where we can have the greatest near-term impact.

Focusing on this opportunity is not about limiting our ambition. It is about sharpening it. Building a company that can bring transformative technology to market requires prioritization. It requires aligning our efforts around the areas where we can deliver real results and create lasting value.
The opportunity ahead is significant. The world will need reliable, secure and scalable sources of critical metals to support continued innovation and economic growth. Meeting that demand will require new approaches and new technologies.
We believe Boston Metal is well-positioned to contribute to that future, and we are committed to executing with clarity and purpose.
