Boston Metal Raises $75 Million to Scale Critical Metals Business

Features, Press releases Published: May 20, 2026

Over the past year, we have sharpened our focus around what we believe is the strongest near-term opportunity for our Molten Oxide Electrolysis (MOE) platform technology: scaling critical metals production in the U.S. and globally.

Boston Metal’s recent $75M investment brings the total raised to over $500M, marking an important milestone for the company and the next chapter in our growth.

As governments and industry prioritize supply chain resilience and access to strategic materials necessary for AI, electrification, advanced manufacturing and defense, Boston Metal is using this raise to scale the deployment of MOE Critical Metals to unlock value from low-grade resources and industrial waste streams to ultimately help strengthen supply chains domestically and abroad.

MOE’s long-term potential extends beyond these materials. Designed to operate across multiple metal systems, including steel, MOE offers a flexible, electrified platform for producing the materials the world needs with a more efficient and sustainable approach.
